Join Us to Celebrate the 2025 Freshwater Heroes!

Protecting and restoring the health of the lakes, rivers, wetlands, shorelines, and our drinking water in our Great Lakes region requires hard work, persistence, and dedication. Freshwater Future is honored to present the 2025 Freshwater Heroes, whose efforts are inspirational and motivational. Please join us virtually on April 1st at 12 pm Eastern Time to celebrate our Freshwater Heroes and may their stories give you hope and a boost to continue your work. Please note that this event will not be recorded.

Celebrating Women’s History Month and Stewardship of our Waters

Freshwater Future honors and celebrates women everywhere, past, present, and future, during this year’s Women’s History Month. We want to especially say thank you to women leaders who tirelessly work to protect our waters in the Great Lakes and beyond. Across many cultures, women are the guardians of the water, protecting its source and ensuring families have access to safe drinking water. We are proud to work with and support a strong network of women across the Great Lakes region. Consider joining us at our annual Heroes awards on April 1st, when some of these women will be honored for their grassroots water advocacy.
